Xigera Safari Lodge

Pronounced Keejera, Xigera Camp lies on Paradise Island, which is just that – paradise. Surrounded by deep channels and lush vegetation in a remote part of the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta. Ten raised luxury tents all have en-suite facilities and an outdoor shower, mosquito nets, tea and coffee making facilities and fans. Each tent has large sliding doors and fantastic views over the floodplains. Elevated walkways connect the tents to the main areas. The dining room and bar are under thatch overlooking the river in front of the camp. There is a plunge pool, fire deck and a star deck for guests to enjoy to surrounds from. A traditional boma is used for outdoors

dining when the weather is clear.

  The wooden foot bridge, which connects the island to the next, is often used by Lion and Leopard to move between islands. Many a guest has enjoyed Lion viewing from the dining room. Xigera has something for everyone in an area where there are no other Moremi camps. Permanent water all year round allows one to enjoy an unparalleled variety of activities including foot safaris, mokoro trips, game drives and powerboat outings in total privacy. Xigera has excellent birding. Pel’s Fishing Owl, Wattled Crane, African Skimmers, Slaty Egret, Rufousbellied Heron, Swamp Boubou and a host of eagles, vultures and raptors will keep the bird-lover fully occupied.
