Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge

Echoing the lines of the rare Pangolin, Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge’s newly rebuilt guests areas are constructed of shingles and timber, like the Pangolin’s scales. The lodge blends into the surroundings perfectly. Curved walkways connect areas and the outside boma. The vast dining area has sweeping views across the magnificent waterways of the Delta. Different areas provide luxurious hideaways for a quiet moment.

Eight elegant suites have been cleverly constructed under a canopy of trees, with views from all parts of the suite onto the floodplains. Each suite has en-suite facilities, outside showers, screen walls and ceiling fans. Each chalet has a private viewing deck and plunge pool in front the channel, ensuring a constantly changing vista.

The area around Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge offers a abundance of wildlife viewing opportunities. The highlights include large herds of elephant and buffalo, the endangered African wild dog, resident rare Pel’s fishing owls, semi-aquatic red lechwe antelope, exceptional bird and plant life including numerous ‘Okavango Specials’, elegant groves of real fan palms and impressive baobab, leadwood and sausage trees. Guests can also expect to see lion prides, cheetah and leopard. Herds of red lechwe favour the edges of floodplains, often feeding in the company of tsessebe. Hippos reside in deeper channels and lagoons. Honey badgers are observed during daylight hours.
