Stanley's Camp

Set in a private concession of the Okavango Delta bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, Stanleys Camp has eight safari tents. Each tent has been individually designed and furnished with African antiques, giving the tent a bygone era look. Each tent is raised on decking, overlooking the floodplains in front of the camp. Each tent has a hammock, en-suite facilities with a ceiling fan. The main building is raised on decking and offers expansive views over the surrounding floodplains. There is a bar, library area and swimming pool where guests can watch the game on the floodplain while enjoying a dip! Guests can enjoy a lunch with three gentle giants, Jabu, Morula and Thembi as part of the Elephant interaction activity. These three elephants were orphaned at a young age and have had a home at Stanleys ever since.

The area surrounding Stanley's Camp is home to a wide variety of big game including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. This private concession is located by definition in seasonal delta. The floodwaters arrive around June, although there is often navigable water all year round due to the presence of the Boro River. Game viewing in the area is extremely good with excellent numbers of predators and plains game on offer. The area houses one of the largest buffalo populations in the Okavango Delta, which, in the dry season, can concentrate into a herd in excess of 2000 head.
