Tuludi Camp

“Tuludi” is the Setswana word used to describe the flecked pattern of a leopard’s coat, and it is also perfectly matched to the dappled light effect that decorates the camp when the sun shines through the leadwood trees above. The high, pitched canvas roofs of the bedrooms create light and airy spaces to escape to at the end of a busy day in Khwai. Tuludi was designed  to reflect the space and freedom of the surroundings. It also helps that each tent is a magnificent 60 square meters in size! Seven "treehouse-style" tents are connected by wooden boardwalks that meander through leadwood trees. Each tent is kept cool by the shady boughs. You'll find distinct changing and sleeping areas, an ensuite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, and splashy bathtubs inside the earthy-hued interior. There is also a sunken seating area and a private plunge pool on the outside veranda. 

Large groups of elephant and buffalo are able to freely roam the floodplains near Tuludi because they are the ideal habitat for these animals. While the Khwai River serves as the region's primary source of water, there is no lack of zebra, giraffe, antelope, and other plains game thanks to the waterways that spindle out through the grasslands. However, the predators are really the stars of the show here, and the densities are better than most in the region. Have your cameras ready at all times as you can expect to see cheetah stalking their territories, leopard lounging in the forest, and lion prides out hunting as twilight falls. Several endangered wild dogs reside in the region, and if you're fortunate enough to see one in the wild, you won't want to leave.
