About Kiri Camp

Each of the eco-luxury canvas tents are positioned on elevated decks on the side of a slope offering guests privacy, comfort and unrivalled sweeping views across the delta. The camp has been designed so that the colouring of the tents blend into the background leaving the wildlife to be the stars of the show. The wildlife in the Kiri area is diverse and plentiful and as it is located in a private concession, off road and night driving are allowed as are armed nature walks through the surrounding islands with knowledgeable guides.

While comfort is a given, Mother Nature takes center stage in Machaba, which embodies the real spirit of the safari. Our lodges and camps are purposefully kept small so that visitors can fully appreciate the uncommon gift of unfettered, untamed bush life. Game drives at night are very distinct from drives during the day. The world changes in smell, sound, and form as the heaviness of the sun sinks below the African horizon. The search is on to find predators hunting or eating, or the rare porcupine or aardvark, armed only with a red-filter night light.

Whether it’s taking a game drive or a walking safari, skimming over the waters of the Okavango Delta in a mokoro canoe, spotting predators at night or visiting a remote village school, our guides will show you Africa as they know it. Walking Safaris also are a great way of exploring the bush to get up close to nature at Kiri Camp.
